When you walk into the intimate space of Art Fiend
Foundation And observe the scene, you start to believe
in their motto, “anything is possible”.
Operated by four partners, Carol Gimbel (musician +
music Teacher), Johanna Hofring (Designer), Ron Jean
Gilles (Accessories designer), and Wen Chi Chung (Graphic
designer) They’ve created a haven to support the
designers + artists of The lower east side community.
What you can expect to find are special hand made items
such as Ron’s geometrical Brass cut out leather
belts, delicate crochet Jewelery by Johanna, leather
embroidered asymmetrical leather Cuffs by Valentine,
even items made by Sami people who live with the reindeers
in the mountains of Northern Scandinavia. Carol might
even play her viola and Johanna play her accordion while
you browse. Also anyone who comes by is welcome to play
the drums. Check out the pieces made by the following
artists/designers listed from Convention
now carried at AFF.
